 Product Overview ControlBuild package

An effective partnership for controlling your automation applications
This alliance has enabled both companies to keep the focus on their respective product ranges and maintain their competitive edge while offering the combined functionality of various software products in one single solution.
Schneider Electric’s Unity Pro offers essential tools, including five IEC languages for programming, diagnostics and graphic display, to automation engineers and software developers for creating a powerful automation control environment.
Geensys offers a full simulation environment enabling task optimization, in which automation engineers can validate functional specifications, generate design files and verify compliance with customer requirements before proceeding with on-site installation and commissioning.
ControlBuild features:

  • IEC 61131-3 editors for describing automation functions with automatic consistency checking
  • PLC simulation in a physical environment (integration with electromechanical devices and the physical behavior of a virtual production system)
  • Management and re-use of expertise to reduce design costs and improve software quality
  • Libraries of electromechanical, instrumentation and materials handling equipment to model the operative part of an installation
  • Description of the electrical part (power supplies for the equipment, wiring plans, etc) to complete the simulation
  • Presentation of mimic views as a communication tool for all project members (automation engineer, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer and, in particular, the end user)
  • Implementation of automatic test procedures and application of test execution results
  • Generation of the application in Unity Pro (PL7 Pro) complete with the operator screens
For over 15 years now, Geensys has been developing and marketing products for designing and validating software within the shortest possible lead times, ready for on-site installation or for embedding in real-time architectures. Geensys’s ControlBuild package is widely used in numerous industry areas (automotive, food and beverage, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, metals, transport, energy and aeronautical) and is the market leader in some sectors.
ControlBuild’s transparent integration with Schneider Electric’s industrial automation development environment serves only to strengthen the market position of both products.

 Company Overview
As a developer of automated system design help software, Geensys (formerly TNI-Software) has always provided innovative solutions that focus on user requirements, in terms of ergonomic design, simulation power, code generation and project documentation.
Whatever the end choice of hardware architecture, Geensys products offer a true expertise management approach. This approach is compatible with methodologies already practiced by our customers, and speeds up project development times while improving the quality and operation of the
production system (maintainability). Moreover, the modeling and simulation techniques applied in our development environments mean that solutions can be prototyped in order to validate, as quickly as possible, that control software developers have correctly understood and integrated all their customer’s requirements. Geensys head office is at Brest in France, supported by sales and distribution offices worldwide.
